A Star Party and Pot Luck dinner, cloudy or clear, for AAC members and guest at Fred and Lucille Heinrich Stargate Observatory and home. (First star party held in September 2006.) Skies are very dark. Great for viewing deep sky objects.

We will have a potluck dinner at 6:00 pm. Bring whatever you like for dinner to share with everyone else. Need to know who is coming and what you are bringing. Email Lisa Eager at lisa5@embarqmail.com

Sunsets: 7:38 pm setup around 5:15 pm

Event to be held "Rain or Shine"

The site is about 60 miles northwest of Gainesville, Florida, and about five miles east of Live Oak. Driving time from Gainesville is approximately one hour.

Do not use GPS unless you own a tank. It will lead you through  quicksand.

Directions from Gainesville
·Get on I-75, go approximately 50 miles north to ext 439 (SR 136). Go west toward Live Oak
·Go west on SR 136 for 2.4 miles, to CR 136A
·Turn right, go north on CR 136A for 1.8 miles
·Turn left onto Wiggins Road, go west for 0.5 miles
·Enter observing field just after the old house on the right

·If you get lost, call Fred or Lucille (386) 362-5995

-Bring a tent or RV if you like to stay overnight.
