Topic:
The Lively and Influential Environment of a Galaxy Cluster: The Radio-Active Cows Edition
Synopsis:
Gravity may seem like a mundane and unimportant part of life on earth, but it is anything but that on the cosmic scale. Gravity brings matter together to form galaxies, which together form galaxy clusters, which are a large portion of the large scale structure in the universe called the Comic Web. I will introduce the concept of galaxy evolution and how the environment in which a galaxy lives and the large scale structure of the universe affects the life of a galaxy. I will discuss the unique insight radio astronomy gives on this topic.
